Does it really matter? Epictetus once said: those who seek wisdom come to understand that even though the world may reward us for wrong or superficial reasons, such as our physical appearance, the family we come from, etc. what really matters is who we are inside and who we are becoming.

If recognition comes tomorrow or in 100 years is not important....

Coincidences happen all the time in my life... for example, few weeks ago I bought a book on Epictetus philosophy and I decided to buy another on Marcus Aurelius Meditations... by the time that I started reading the Marcus Aurelius book I realize that he was one of the main followers of Epictetus thinking... how neat, I tought...

And then on youtube I found this great class on his way of life:

Vigilance over my actions... understand and repeat to myself that help and harm; good and evil come from within myself. I should not look to externals and be mesmerized by appearances.

We are the source of everything good or bad. So the value that shape my life is vigilance over my actions... to be awake and mindful and above all, avoid to blame the outer world or people... because nothing can hurt us but our own view of the outer world....
